Security Starter quick question!
I have an 04' V6 mustang, and after the techs had cleaned it and gave me the keys to drive off the lot, I got in and went to start the car and it didnt start. the engine made the typical startup noise, but never actually started. I was like WTF, then finally one of the techs came up to me and told me I had to hit the "unlock" button on the hand held key pad one more time, he said it was a security lock on the car. Sure enough, it started. When I lock the doors though, and hit unlock once and I hop in, the car starts though,so I'm confused, why didnt the car startup for me that time, and/or, is it some lever or button in the car the techsmaybe hit to lock the engine the first time and thats why its not doing it anymore? Very curious, The car didn't come with the operators manual, (already ordered it though and awaiting its arrival) So in the mean time I was just very curious of to why this is. Thanks again
perhaps they locked it while the door was open, or locked it and reached in the window and unlocked the door with the handle, locked it and used the key, who knows. not a big deal, if it wont start just hit the unlock button again.
they do that incase someone breaks your window out and opens the door they wont be able to hotwire it, or if you leave the window downand someone reaches in same thing (tho they would need the transponder key to start it anyways...double fail safe i guess)
