Default Gather around all you great technicians

Ok, so i come into work today and my manager tells me there is a 2005 V6 on the lot with the check engine light on. I dont think anytinhg of it. So later on today i pull it in and the general manager tells me. there is no speedometer.
So i get it in and drive it around the parking lot real quick. No speedo, the mileage in the middle are all dashs like its in diag mode. Also, the overdrive light flashes. Just quickly i pulled codes, got P0720 and P0722... OSS ( Output shaft speed) not reading right and OSS input wrong. Didnt put too much thought into it, but any of you have any ideas. I'll get back on it tmrw.

Sounds like the wires to the speed sensor are possibly reversed, or not connected.

Casper, what have you checked already? Has ford published the wiring diagrams yet for you to use. EP wiring diagram may diagnos this problem if its the pcm. I haven't done much work with electrical so I really can't help much.

Yeah, its the speed sensor. The Dodge trucks, dont shift ( if they do its harsh) and no speedo.... Explorers give ABS codes for the one on the rear diff too. .... However, this isnt the case on this turd!~

Well after just re-reading your original post I think it may be kind of obvious although I still my be wrong. But could it be a faulty output shaft speed sensor (if one exist) or a sensor that reads the output shaft rpm[sm=smiley25.gif]
