Default idle point.

my car is an auto and is idling around 1650-1700 rpms around 25-28mph... is it just me or does that seem a bit high...

that seems way high to me, mine is a stick but the idle should be the same, a motor is a motor...mine is about 800 rpms...although my coolent sensor went nutts a while back and made it idle that high for about a week before i reset it.

that is way too high an idle speed if you ask me. it should be no more than maybe 750 rpm or so in drive. check for a vacuum leak or loose/disconnected vacuum hose somewhere.

That's normal. If you're moving and pop it into neutral, the RPMs will hold high. You should be seeing around 700 in Park.

Sounds like there making you run to rich at idle when "they" reprogrammed your ecu. By the way who is they, I'll make sure I don't order a chip from them.
