Hey guys, I just purchased my first GT a few weeks ago. Whoohoooo..lol. Its a 1998 GT(Yeah, I know, NPI sucks!) lol. Ill get to my question though, the car came with an alarm from the factory but it doesnt do what the book says it should. It says that when i lock it with the keypad it should show ALARM in yellow in the center information console(under the speedometer). I dont think it is setting and i have checked the fuse also. Is this a common problem that any of yall out there have had? If so, got any ideas on what to do? Im going to my cousin next week who used to work at a car audio place here in town, but i would like to see if i can find out whats wrong on my own. lol. I have plenty of knowledge when it comes to the motors, but i am not that good at electrical. [sm=guilty.gif]. lol. but yea if anyone has some ideas i would appreciate it greatly.

Does the alarm system work despite the indicator on the dash not working? Does the 'alarm' indicator ever light up.. even when you're starting the car & all the lights should blink on (bulb test)

 

yea, the alarm light comes on when i start the car but it doesn flash like its supposed to when the alarm should be set. I also tried to set it one time with the window down so i could open the door, when i opened the driver door i got nothing, the alarm didnt go off. Yet the panic button still works. kinda confusing. lol

 

yeah i have one also but no remotes do you know where you can get those and how to program them you said you know alot about the electrical right..or was that engines lol just messing with you i am also guilty and could use some help too so if you find out let me know good question you posted hope someone here has the answers and can toss me some info too ..thanks

 

i guess u can get them from the dealer, they will rape u in cost tho. (like everything else u buy from em). as for the programing, i have no idea.
