So i moved it over to the "Tech" area beacuse i think the rear has nothing to do with 5.0 motors section.
People on this board are so great, anybody else wanna throw me a wise crack? seems thats all ive been getting instead of anserews.

**** yeah. Im going with a few other people. They are EASY! lol. You dont need alot of toos either. I did a gear swap just the other day in an 05 i posted in the 05section in approx. 3 hours. Its cake. And the gear pattern was perfect, backlash was around 9-10ish. right on the money. I didnt take my time, i rushed actually because the kid wanted it back bad. I really wish i lived closer. Because i could teach you how to do it in 3 hrs and it might take longer because... well i dont know if you have a press or not. But you need one. Or you could take it to a shop... Or you could use a hammer and a few cups. It would just take alot longer. lol. Special service tools are needed, but can be over come with other tools. Dial indicator, inch lbs. torque wrench, and ft lbs torque wrecnch. And the really hard thing is, on some cars, the crush collar is a real bitch to get to crush. I had to yank my 3/4 impact to get this one. It sucked. Thats what took so much time in my certain case.

<----- Why be a ****er? All he wants to know is what he needs basically. I dont care if he ****s up, its not my car. So im gonna say go for it. Let him do it, oh well if he messes up. And how is it saving money? If he tries and gets pretty much all the way, but cant seem to get the backlash righ, all he has to do it have it towed, or drive it. Might hollar a bit. lol. Then all the tech has to do is drain the fluid, check backlash,. if its not correct, plop in some shims and BAM!!

Yea BAM!! easy when the words come from a mechanic. but mister here is a cobra owner at 19 remember... less experience means its gonna be 10,000X times harder to install the gears, especially without the right tools and know how. if he wants to do it, more power, good luck but the chances of him ****ing up over you ****ing up are MUCH greater. 30 people told him not to do it, 3 people told him he could. what would you do if you were in his shoes?

Maybe.... But if you have any kinda mechnical incline you can do it. Do you think every technician grew up always knowing how to do them?
