Default Winter tires

I've got a 2007 Mustang (not a GT) and was wondering if you guys recommend putting just 2 winter tires on the back or going with all 4 winter tires?

I've always hada winter beater suv so I've never had to deal with snow tires before, but unfortunately I no longer have that luxury.

You'll want winter tires all around or not at all. Where do you live and what kind of snow are you expecting?

I'm in Boston so you never can tell what New England winters will bring - just want to be prepared.

I bought 4 tires as I was under the impression that when you put only 2 winters on you mess with the handling of the car because of the different types of rubber used on each set. I just began to question myself when some friends gave me crap for buying 4 and telling me it was nonsense that you have to buy 4. So I figured I'd check in here just to make sure I'm not going crazy....well...

My 89 GT was used in PA winters, a lot of snow.
I had an extra set of rims so I put a pair of
Blizzacks on the rear and 3 bags of sand in the
hatch. Make sure you go 1 or 2 sizes narrower
than the stock.
Never got in an accident.
The tire guys want you to put 4 on but that is
mostly to get your $$$$. Itr may help the
steering but you already have a lot of
engine weight over the front.
I just made sure that the front tires were the best
tread of remaining tires.
