Hello everyone, I have a few questions that I hope you can help me out with.

1. Which would be a better purchase for me? I am looking for a summer car, something with atleast 400 horsepower. Would I be better off with a 88-92 5.0 or a 03-04 Cobra?

2. How expensive is it to upgrade a 5.0 to reach 400hp or more?

3. My current vehicle is turbo charged and I would like to either turbo or supercharge the mustang. Which is best for a street/track car?

4. How strong are the transmissions on the 5.0s? What HP range are they capable of?

5.0 parts are damn cheap. to get it to 400hp it would be a lot cheaper than buying a termie. check out trickflow's stuff for the 5.0.

 

You could buy an 03/03 Cobra and upgrade the blower and put some bolt ons on it and get a crapload more than 400hp though, since the factory shortblock is built like a tank. You can pay more for a Termie and have more power in the long run, or pay less for a 5.0 and have less power. Both can make good performance for the $$$ spent, so it comes down to whether or not you want to pay more to get more. And a stock T5 in a 5.0 may not like 400hp, it'll depend on how you drive it
