Default cutting the springs?

I have local guys who work on alot of mustangs in the area. They were trying to talk me into lowering my mustang by cutting the springs. I was wondering if anyone has this done or has tried it? I guess the worse case is I buy the lowering springs if it rides bad. They have done it to alot around here but I haven't asked anyone how iy rides.

heres a big argument over at "stagnet" about cutting coils. Im going to do it, and if it fails it looks like i will be buying lowering springs.

There is a lot of talk about cutting springs especially stock springs that are not designed to be cut. They can run into problems
down the road like alignment issues, bottoming out, very harsh ride. It also depends on how much you cut as well. Generally one
coil can be removed anymore is not adviced. Performance springs like Eibach H&R Ford Racing are designed to be lowered. Ford Racing
can be cut because they have a dead coil so that it can be trimmed off. Other brands advice like H&R And Eibach not to remove any coils
and can tell you the problems you can run into when you do. Good Luck,

Matt

my friend did it and at first it was cool but now it's a hard ride, my a$$ is in pain when I'm riding with him, I think one of his shocks is fukked up too because it's making a funny sound when his going slow or over speed bumps. i would not do it.

Dude, don't be crazy, that is the worst shortcut you can take.... spend the $90 and get shorter ones.

And get rid of the crappy stock shocks/struts. Lowering the car takes the stock ones out of the normal operating range... you probably won't even get 6 months out of em' if you don't change them.
