I am considering the purchase of an 03 Cobra Conv. from a private party with modifications -- pulley, chip, cold air and exhaust mods. Car has 10k miles and is in excellent condition. I have owned two GTs, but not a Cobra. I am concerned about the impact of these mods on the mfgr and extended warranties. Thoughts? Thanks all.

 

All you have to do is make sure the dealer KNOWS ans puts it in writting that you are buying the car with the mods. They may want to take them off if you try that but you may be able to strike a deal. That sounds like a bad **** ride you're gonna get. What are they asking for it and are they asking more for it because of the mods... because if so I wouldnt pay for them.

I think you will have no warranty if you tell the dealer...

It's hit or miss with the Ford dealers. I have two in the area that let my mods slide, but a third that does not. It also depends on why the car is in for repair. They cannot refuse to warranty your power windows because you have a pulley on your s/c.

Your gonna love it! 25K is not a bad price with mods, and low mileage.
