Auto Faster? Stick faster?
My tourqe converter is built for applications up to 800 crank hp. My shift points and firmness were set when I tuned on the dyno.
Yea I probably loose 5 or 6% power vs a stick, but when I run, Its pedal to the floor and hold it, except for slight letup on the shifts (I can fishtail 2nd and 3rd on radials).
An important thing not yet mentioned it the effect of shifting with a Blower. I keep full boost all the way through the run, while a stick has to get off the boost to shift.
I bought an auto 'cause I'm lazy, and its my daily driver. Next race-only car will be a stick.

I dont need a link I am just curious as to the change. I wouldn't doubt that the Whoe Dunk tracks I race at would not be
up to date. That is why I stated earlier it could be something I have never hear of. I have seen may slips that at a KNown ".500" systme would not have redlight info. i.e tune and lube nights ect....If you find a link kewl if not no big deal. If you look at the greatlakes DW link I posted that is where I have raced as of late.

you don't need a link to know that 0.000 is right. Just look at my slips. if I red lighted it would say. but if you really "need" a link I'll get one after lunch

Then maybe you should have actualy reserched or asked for the information instead of insulting me, my mother, and my inteligents saying that I was wrong and the other remarks that you made.

This depends on what year car, and what make of car you are talking about. The 94-04 mustangs with the old four speed auto are slower than the 5 speed. Motor Trend says the the new 5 speed automatic should be a couple of tenths quicker (under 5 seconds for the GT) to 60 mph. The fastest tranny right now being made is the 6 speed DSG AUTO in the V-6 Audi TT (which i have ridden in and shifts alot faster than a manual tranny). The new technology coming out is making the transmisions faster than that of the old automatics. However if you have 2 2005 Ford Mustang GTs one with an auto and one with a 5 speed the auto will win. If you have an earlier version (94-04) the 5 speed will take the auto.

The mod in me is saying stop harassing other members with useless posts.
But let's go back here.
You're saying as long as the cars are equal?
So that means the auto gets a shift kit, cooler, and a stall im guessing?
Well then yes, the auto should win. But stock for stock Manual wins hands down.
