hey so i just got my car about 3 weeks ago and it needs some oil put in and i was wondering if it matters if i just put what type i want and it wont be bad because the diffrence possibly in what the last owner put in

Umm what car do you have?

It should say on the oil cap what type of oil you should be using.. use it.

Just change the damn oil. It wont hurt anything, afterall, who knows how long ago the last one was.

Also, Ive got news for ya. for the majority of shops, unless you specifically ask for synthetic or a different weight of oil, your going to wind up with 10-30 lol. Check the cap or owners manual first, some fords want 5-20, but otherwise I would just use 10-30
