There is always a trade off. Convertibles are nice when the weather is good. I’ve owned two and loved them both. There is some body flexing when on rough roads even with the frame connectors. The tops usually only last four or five years before they need replacing. Then there is the wind noise at higher speeds. But there is nothing like the wind in your hair on a beautiful day or warm evening. Go for it!

I personally think Verts look girly. Nothing like a pretty girl in a vert. If you want freedom of being in the open air get a motorcycle atleast you will look masculin.

I have both coupe and Vert. Goods and bads for both. The coupe is for mostly track only, the vert is for driving fun.
And why anybody would call an 03 Cobra vert "girly" is beyond me. Why do folks have to bash something just because it is different from what they have?
Did I forget to tell you that my vert will kill my coupe?

Another reason why I bought one is because EVERYBODY LOOKS at convertibles.
Eh, just doesn't look right to me.

That's why they make both, some like 1, some like the other.

Just said my opinion I wan't bashing. I just think they look femme thats all. I know Plenty of Girl cars that could beat my coupe and your vert...I never argued that.

If I could, I would have one of each. It was tough deciding on which one to get for the same reasons you are asking.

My dad had a convertible when I was a kid and I loved it so I chose that version for my first mustang. After it's paid off, I'll probably get a coupe.

Hello,
I have 95 mustang gt vert and was in your position around 3 years ago. Wasnt sure what to get. I decided on the vert baiscally due to all my other cars are hardtops and it didnt feel any different (except speed). If it is cold, i put the top up, which i have been told looks just as good, white body w/ black top. I have done lots to mine to make it look better than factory. As for the ride, its smoother than my 2000 alero. If you are into racing and the track, then i would stick w/ the hardtop, but if its fun and cruising around getting looks, go for the vert. To me its basically 2 cars for the price of one. Oh, and mine has the glass window in back and is so well insulated. You do hear road noice, but my 2000 alero is worse!! As for the top, dont worry about it. My top was replaced once in the 10 years since it has been out. Ebay has nice mustang tops for very nice price, then had a local upholstery shop but it on... total spent.. around 450.00. Wasnt faded or anything, but am trying to upgrade everything in the looks category due to car shows. Trust me, get the vert, take the Mrs, ms, or some randow girl out on a date some nice warm summer evening and you will love it. Good luck, T. J.
