Default Flux Welder

Kinda of new to the forum site here - so hello.
I picked up a 1965 hardtop about a month ago and have started a complete resto-mod on it. It only needs three body panels - those being the two front long floor boards and a r/r lower quarter panel patch. I was wondering your guys feelings on a flux core wire welder for the job - that will be the most I do with it more than likely.
Let me know. Thanks
Rob

a good flux core will be ok for the floor pans, just not as neat. The lower quarter you will have to take your time with so you don't burn through or warp the metal

flux cores leave tons of splatter if you can use a gas welder

Do you know how to weld?

It doesn't make sense to buy a welder just for one small job.You would probably be better off to use the money to take the car to a pro and have them do the job.
Sheet metal is hard to weld without warping the material and then you have to go over the panel with a hammer and dolly to get it even enough to use filler.Too much filler can crack and is easy to find by a potential buyer.Too much working of the steel causes "oil canning" and then you have to shrink the metal to keep the filler from working loose and falling out.
Yes this is kinda' nit picking but I'm pretty **** about body work. That's whyI hate doing it.
