Transmission swap??
Tranny swap really isn't that expensive, if your lucky. Granted I don't have a 5.0, I have a 2.3. It used to have a AOD but now I dropped in a t-5. Speaking strictly money it cost me under $150. If you can find a auto salvage place that will let you pull your own parts you can save some mad cash. Plus on top the money you save you get a real good feel about where each part should go and how the lines, (clutch cable, speedometer cable, reverse lights, etc..)must be routed. That is if you where going to do it yourself. Its a big pain, but if you don't mind getting dirty and taking apart your entire dash, than go for it. Remember"DONOR" is the key word. Thats if you want to go used. Otherwise you go new, you sign away your first born. But with new your guarnteed a good tranny. Used, you role the dice and hope for the best.
