i was wondering or hoping somebody would know what type of performance or brand of performance tires are the best ? i have a mustang, 96... and I want to get the wide tires on my car, as wide as possible, or as street legit as possible, I heard BF GOODRICH were pretty good, any other suggestions?

Default PERFORMANCE TIRES

IT'S ALL ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND. I'M CURRENTLY REPLACING THE TIRES ON MY 94 WITH 17'S. I'VE BEEN RIDING ON DUNLOPS WITH MY LAST 2 SETS BUT NOW I'M GOING TO TRY KUMHO ECSTA 712'S. GO TO PLACES LIKE 1010TIRES.COM AND TIRERACK.COM AND READ THE USER COMMENTS. SOME TIRES WEAR FAST, SOME START MAKING A LOT OF NOISE, WHAT CAN YOU DEAL WTIH AND WHAT CAN YOU SPEND.

AS FAR AS WIDTH THAT IS DEPENDANT ON YOUR RIM WIDTH. ARE THEY THE STOCK 17x8's (OR IS 8.5)? I'VE SEEN GUYS GO TO 265'S ON STOCKERS YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET MORE.

CHECK OUT THIS CRAP BELOW. I COPIED IT FROM 1010TIRES.COM

Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG)

The Uniform Tire Quality Grading rating is a quality rating system developed by the American Department of Transportation. It is designed to tell consumers the relative performance of passenger tires. Below is an example of a UTQG Rating:

150A B
The "150" indicates the treadwear rating (A 200 WILL BE SOFTER THAN A 300 THEREFORE BETTER GRIP LESS LIFE)
the "A" indicates traction
the "B" indicates temperature

The ratings are based on controlled conditions based on a particular course. A tire graded 150 would wear 1 and a half times as well as a tire graded 100. Traction ratings are AA, A, B, and C, from highest to lowest. This measurement indicates a tires ability to stop on wet pavement. Temperature ratings are as follows from highest to lowest: A, B and C. These measurements indicate the tire's ability to sustain high temperatures which often cause tires to wear away quickly or in extreme conditions lead to sudden tire failure.

I bought Yokohamas for my ride. They're really nice, great traction. The ride is so so. I've heard the nittos are really nice in all aspects though, i'm getting those next.........
