You'd probably need a taller hood, maybe a 4 inch cowl
you will, the 429 has a tall intake, much taller than the 5.0

The block itself is also deeper, therefore for the same ground clearance, the motor will have to sit a little higher on the motor mounts. That means a new hood for you, i think

Yes, it will fit in there. I built a 1981 mustang back in 1986 with a 460 in it. Then in1989 I bought awrecked 89 and put all the parts onmy 81 Mustang to make it look like a 89 mustang.Back in 1986, guys at Ford built a 86 Mustang they called Blue Thunder, they unbolted the crossmember and put a 1" spacer in there and bolted it back up (a body lift). Then cut a little out of your front coils to get it to sit back where they wanted it.
I ran a port-a-sonic intake on mineand I haveto run a cowl hood for clearance. Later I ran a stock hood with a Pro Stock Hood scoop.
With 9.1 to 1 compresion, a comp 292 cam and 4.11 gears I ran 11.51's spinning the first 20 feet on sticky street tires w/o nos and without mufflers. If you have some old Popular Hotrodding magazine or Fabulous Mustang and Exotic Fords from 1990 or 91 you can see my old Mustang it was Orange. They called it Masquerade in one magazine.
That motorwill fit in any Mustang from 1979 and up. And Farmont's, Thunderbird's, Mercury XR7's, basicly any fox body cars.
