I asked my dealer about the break in period on my 05.
They said no break in period?????? huh ????? I said. He said Nope... No breakin Period. Jus keep your oil changed every 3000.

Some guy posted last night that that we should dump the oil at 500 mi & Change the tranny fluids due to the break in.
I now have 500mi What do you say?

My Dealer also put a sticker on the window as a reminder to have the oil changed at 3000

i doubt there is a break in but i would say 500 miles would be more then enough. if you want to change the oil, go for it. wont hurt anything

 

Change the oil and if you want a good scare look into the drain pan after you dump it.There will be shavings and all kind of junk,expensive looking junk,in the bottom.Don't worry though,it's normal.I canged mine at 500 mi.and use Mobile 1,0-20.Next do the tranny,use the synthetic of your choice.

 

I like to change it at 500mi (use organic) then again at 3,000 miles and use synthetic this time. Try to vary your rpms as you drive for the first few hundred miles, no redlining it, will help your car last a lot longer.

 

I do as follows

250 miles... install magnetic drain plugs
500 miles
1000 miles
2000 miles....all using 10w 30 reg oil
3000 miles 10 w 30 syth. oil...
