My dad bought a car on ebay and everything went fine it is now sitting in our garage. We want to make sure it is the 1980 10th anniversary edition datsun 280 zx.

Carfax doesent work and I dont know how to check it. The vin # is HS130-217230

 

A VIN has to be 17 characters, i tryed and it didnt work.

 

I know. Before the 1980's they didnt really have vins, more of a serial number. Now datsun company could probably tell me but I wouldnt know who or where to call. That is why carfax doesent work.

 

Try Googling the car or go straight to Edmunds and do a search.

It's almost impossible to distinguish a 1980 280ZX from the previous year's edition except for the fact that the special "10th Anniversary" edition offered that year was awash in gold and black paint and the "T-top" removable roof panels were now on the options list. Does your Dad's car have gold and black paint or "T-tops"?

 

Yes it is gold and black and t-tops but I thought you could get a gold and black one that wasnt a 10th anniversary
