Default Retarded idea

Has anyone ever thought of using that peice of crap smog pump for something that will actually produce power insted of rob it? aka a homemade supercharger. Yea i was bored today so i decided to put on my smog pump eliminator pully and i was trying to think of some use for that peice of junk pump. Maybe put a smaller pulley on it to produce more air, then run some kind of hose or steel piping into the intake.

I know I am a newbie, but I have to agree with the title. Retarded idea!! Is that like the guy that hooked up the leaf blower to his intake? Or the Chevy guy who wanted to run his exhaust back into his intake?

no this is diff., 1 it's clean air and 2 if you can get it to pressurize it will have most of the properties as a supercharger, how do you think a/c compressors work???? they compress air just like a supercharger, a smog pump pumps more air the faster it is spun, a smaller pully would spin it more aka more air if you can get a setup that doesnt let air come out it should pressurize and work, im not sure how much air they pump but i'll bet you could get one to push a little air.

Don't get me wrong, you would get some air. But I am doubting it would be enough to make that big of a deal about. I don't think it would be capable of pumping in enough air for what you would want it for.

smog pumps don't flow enough air to be useful as a blower. Maybe if you somehow got 20 of them going at the same time you might be onto something. Yup retarded idea but fun to think about stuff like that

The leaf blower actually did increase power.
