Default Tires

What is a good tire that hooks but also gets good tread wear. Im looking into getting a 275/60/15. I would like a 28" tire but i could deal with another set of 26" ones. I have some 245 BFG radials on it now. But with the summer coming im going to have some 4.10's installed and most likely a stall converter. I like how the bfg's wear but i dont know if they will be enough to hook. Plus they are cheap. I dont think M/T et street would wear very well for me seeing this is my daily driver snow and rain.

Some people say nitto drag radials are the best in terms of tread life but they arent as sticky as the BFG's or the Mickey Thompson's. I personally am going to try the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials in a 275/60/15.

I just put the Nitto 555r 315/35/17s on mine and when they are warm i hook second great! Nitto is the stickiest tire i have used, but i have also got some good wear from kuhmo but not quite as sticky

Go to tirerack.com and compare treadwear ratings.

These short lived drag tires are all zero. Normal tires are like 400.
Aim for something in between and you'll get what you are looking for.

I've went 2.0 sixty foot on a Dunlop SP Sport which is rated at 320. Great lasting tire and slightly sticky for a stocker Mustang.

Asking the guys on this forum is like asking what is the best colour. The range of cars here is huge. Narrow your question down to how much car are you trying to hook up. I totally agree with your decision to not use ET. Streets or MT drag radials on a true everyday driver.
