How much should I pay for a 1987 GT convertable
Im looking at a 1987 GT convertable 5 speed showing 88,000 but said the engine has been rebuilt,, body is good, paint looks original may need buffed, top is good, has 93 style 5 spokes. Car is pretty much original except wheels, exhaust and intake but have original parts. Also has a/c delete but has everything to reinstall. He is asking $3,400 but I was thinking $2,800or maybe even 3k was decent price, its black with black top and grey interior. Just trying to find out if that is way to much, it does not seem high compared to others ive looked at but I dont know to much about the fox style.
yeah I know that, I just sold the 96 and I went ahead and bought the 87. I pid 2,800. Its nice, the interior is great and the outside is good to except minor dings and faded some. I think its worth putting a paint job on it.
im pretty sure it is 188k miles but yeah it does have the 5 digit speedo so im not really sure without maybe a carfax. Im trying to get somebody who already has an account to do a carfax. I dont really want to buy one for 1 run
i would its 188k, if it only had 88k you would know it for sure. my 93 GT has 101k and its pretty clean. but congrats on the buy, 2800 is a great price if the car is in any kind of good shape. i've seen the foxbody go for $4k or more when their in good shape. im sure you're planning for upgrades soon, let us know how it goes.
The car already had a BBK cold air intake and BBK shorty headers, catless h pipe, flowmasters, King Cobra cluth and 16" Ponys. Im pretty satisfied with the performance. The body has some minor dings and the bumpers are faded so im going to just repaint the car back black, and maybe put a new top on it. The top has some small issues but still looks good but I wantthe car to be really nice. Im probably going to keep it as original as I can since it does have all matching VIN body panels. I think 2800 was a decent price.
