Not real sure the VIN would tell you much. The cars are manufactured by Ford then shipped to Saleen (I believe through the dealerships). The VIN isnt changed once the car is manufactured. Saleen pulls off things they dont want on the finished product (wheels, tires, exhaust, etc), and adds their own parts to the mix (wheels, tires, exhaust, body kit, superchargers, etc) - then in some cases repaints the cars.
I believe this is one of the reasons you wont find any value on a Saleen on something like the Kelly Blue Book.

After reading Carfax it did'nt say much of anything as modded or being a saleen. It has had many owners for its age though....I would check it out good. I can email you the carfax report if you want...just leave me a msg with your email.

yes thats correct, a know a guy that owns a mustang performance shop and he owns a saleen. he cant figure out if it was actually done by saleen or reproduced by someone else. badging is the way to tell or if you can get in touch with the saleen factory they can tell you(thats how he finally figured it out)
