quick tire question?
hey guys, I'm trying to sell the rims and tires on my car now and go with either some weld racing wheels or summit star wheels.
I'm trying to decide between three tires, the firestone firehawk Indy 500, BF Goodrich radial T/A and the dunlop gt qualifier T. All of them are all season tires but what supprised my is that the firestones were the highest rated and the cheepest. I have alwayse heard bad things about Firestone has something changed?
Which tire should I choose? I dont know much about tires so if these are bad choices let me know what is. Thanks in advance.

RE: quick tire question?
All of firestones tires in certain sizes were recalled a while back after having blow out issues on Ford Explorers and other large trucks/suvs. There is nothing wrong with the rest of their tire line.

RE: quick tire question?
I'm looking for some good all around tires that will last. Tires go really fast because of how rough the roads are.
I will most likely go to the track with them once or twice.

If lasting take preference over dry traction. Chose a tire with a high treadwear rating. 300 or higher. Beware though because your track times will suffer.
When dealing with rough roads avoid low profile tires. Minimum 60 series. Anything like 40 or 45 series will do a hurting on your ride and your rims.

RE: quick tire question?
Bottom line is:
The softer the tire, the more performance you get, but durability and tread-life suffers.
The harder the tire, the less performance you get, but durability and tread-life is alot better.
That's about the easiest way to explain it.
