RE: What makes a car a "Daily Driver"??
Oooh 14.97 thats what my girl April runs in her 1993 stock 300ZX 2+2 with auto. That car is suppose to run a 15.9 so obviosly girls can drive very well Her reaction time was perfect, she came in 3rd that night and it was the FIRST time that she had ever been to the drag strip. Her ET was 15.50 and she stuck in the 15.4 range all night long, her last run she made a 14.97 after she lost (Stumbled on the gas and lost, she would of had 1st)
Lots of people thought that she was going to run 16's all night long and she had alot of people come up to her and ask her if it was a Turbo mod. It was great
Anyways, with an auto most would go 4.10 with a manual most would go with 3.73's unless its a 6spd. But personally what I really like to go with is 3.73's
They are great cruising gears and have gobs of go and dont require slicks and crap.

I have an 05 GMC Sierra V8 with the 4.10s and I love the way it accelerates. I pushed it real hard for the first time the other day and I was thoroughly impressed. But it is a big difference from what I used to have. I had a 96 Ranger V6 but don't know what gears and I wouldn't trade my 4.10s for that old thing any day.

Oh man there are a lot of people throwing around some interesting opinions here. Go for the 4:10's you will love them, but I suggest that you think out and plan your future mods so you do not have to end up buying things twice, i.e. do ever plan to spray the car? If so that will affect gear choice. Another option for you is to get set of extra wheels and put track tires (such as a drag radial on them) here’s the trick though, get the tire in a smaller diameter than your stock tires, this will give an effectively lower (numerically higher) gear ratio, try a tire that is 2-3 inches smaller in diameter. This way you can still have the drivability of a stock gear and when you are at the track have the lower gear and sticky tires to boot. If it were me I would skip 4:10's and go with 4:30's but I am silly like that.
