we bought our son a 2006 mustang 7 mos ago but thed lastthree days he has been getting a puddle of water on the floor board on the front passenger side, nothing else is wet just a puddle on the floor any ideas as to what may cause this

I have heard of something like this happening before and I believe that it was the A/C evaporator drain was clogged. To be honest I don't know where that is or how to fix it but I think that's what the problem was. If the car is still under warranty then I would definitely bring it back to Ford to make them deal with it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Try posting this in the s197 section of the forum where there is a lot more traffic.

take it to the dealer and have it fixed under warranty if its stii good

I'd check to see if your losing coolant. Not sure about the Mustangs...but most cars have their heater core located in that area...and if they leak it ends up on passenger floorboard.

My girlfriend had a 88 LX Vert and the same thing happened to her, and it was the heater core.

Does the water smell like coolant? Have you been using the A/C?

I had this problem (the car wasn't a Mustang) and it took me forever to find the problem. The problem was the seal around the windshield. Water was leaking into a loose seam in the windshield gasket, running down the firewall and down to the floor board. If the car is an 06 I would be surprised it is the heater coil or air conditioner. But, I guess stranger thinks can happen.
