Default Gauge cluster transplant..? Possible or not?

OK people.. I've had the craving to transplant a gauge cluster from a V8, Mach 1, or some other "quiker" stang into my lil' V6... My mechanic seems to think its possible due to the fact that Stang's (as well as most fords for that matter) use a speed sensor and something? I dunno know.. Some other technical mechanic jumbo of words... But anywho... Anyone know the facts and/or wether they have tried and failed/surpassed? Can it be done? I dunno? You tell me... |pe@ce|

Yes.

What year is your car. I think the 94+'s have PATS and all that has to be reprogrammed by the dealership. All in all, about $500 labor.
