Default WHAT GEAR

I'M TRYING TO DETERMIN IF MY CAR HAS HAD A GEAR INSTALLED.... THE RPM'S SEEM REALLY HIGH.. AT 75 MPH MY RPM'S ARE AT 25OO. DOES THAT SEEM RIGHT FOR STOCK? (JUST BOUGHT THE CAR) MY 95 G.T. WAS WAY DIFFERENT. FOR INSTANCE.. 3RD GEAR @ 5500 I WAS DOING 105 MPH. WITH MY NEW CAR I'M ONLY DOING 90MPH

you can run the vin number to a ford dealer or do it the old fashion way jack the back end up put it in neutral and see how many times the drive shaft turns for one complete rev of the wheel

stock at 75 u should be around 2000rpm, 2500 is definitely too high. There's a way to jack up the rear end and count the driveshaft vs tire revolutions and it tells you what gear you have but i'm not sure exactly which way it goes.

Mark the driveshaft in one spot and mark the tire in one spot. Turn the tire over one full rotation, while counting how many revolutions the drive shaft makes. FYI its much easier with help from another person to turn the tire, so you can keep your eyes on the shaft.

BTW it doesn't matter which way you turn the wheel. And of course do it in neutral.
