OK I have this 79 mustang i am trying to replace the rod that goes in the shifter for the t-handle to shift the gears properly but the one i bought form the dealer is too long it is supposedly the correct one and i seem to remeber something that you have to cut it down to size or something like that if you could please let me know i would greatly appreciate
