tranny fluid

I have a question about Mercon III and Mercon V. Would it be a big deal if I were to flush a Mercon V system with Mercon III?

i think the wrong type of fluid will attack your seals and junk. not positve though. why not just use the correct type?

I would have used the correct type if I would have known what it was before i started the flush. I didn't realize til I checked the fliud.
