turn signals
Im having a weird problem with my turn signals, I have the sequential tailight kit on my 97' mustang and when i put my hazards on all the lights, front and back, come on and work perfectly fine, in sequence and everything. When i go to put my signal on the light starts flashing really fast as if i have a burnt out bulb for the left and right sides. The arrows come on inside the car, just everything is really fast as if something is burnt out. I know the bulbs are fine because i just replaced every single one front and back, and they all come on with the hazards, and i have checked the fuses, but maybe im not looking at the correct fuse? Could someone let me know which fuse is for the turn signals on a 97 mustang or if anyone has had this problem and knows what the hell is going on? Thanks!
what kind of bulbs are you using? I had a similar problem with my motorcycle when I installed LED bulbs. The current was going through the bulbs really fast due to the decreased resistance, resulting in quick flashing.
yea i am using LED bulbs in the tailights, but they worked fine when i first installed them and they still work fine when the hazard lights are on, but its just with the turn signals, thats why im really confused.
I would think the LED's have a lower resistance and when you just have the turn signals on, current flow is too high causing the faster blink rate. Do you have your old turn signal bulbs? If so, pop those in and see if it makes a difference.
yea I've heard you can get a new flasher to fix the flash rate.
onecobra, will that slow the flashing of the front signals even further? or will all the turn singals blink at the same speed? Im not sure b/c i didnt buy one, I wired in some resistors to the turn signals on my bike to fix the flash rate.

I ended up testing the old stock bulbs and they worked fine, which tells me that it is the resistance difference in the LED bulbs, and i found a website that has everything to do with LED's called superbrightleds.com they have all kinds of lights and resistors for this exact application to make the LED's work in my lights. Thanks a lot for everyones knowledge and help tho, i appreciate it.
