According to the website, you can do it either through the crankcase, oil filler, fuel tank, or even all three. Most people put it through the crank case via the brake booster or PCV valve.

I pull the hose off the IAC and stick the straw from the spray can into the hose,then replace the hose.You can then stick the straw back into the spray valve,start the engine and spray away.It works a lot better if you warm the engine up to operating temp. before cleaning.This cleans the IAC,the runners of the lower intake,the outside of the injectors,the head ports,the backs of the intake valves,and some of the carbon from the combustion chambers.
If you spray enough in to cause the engine to stumble you will eventually get the white smoke.The smoke has a light oily smell that I'm sure comes from the kerosene base it's made from.

For what its worth ,i had a 98 monte ,used the stuff once ...great smoke ,,sucked it through one of the vacum lines after the t/b ...2weeks later had code 420 ...failed cat???unsure if related ...i wouldnt do it again ...
