Default MY NUTS FELL OFF

Lug nuts that is. Ever since I got my Saleens on I've had problems with them coming loose on my left rear tire and now two of them actually fell off of the front right tire. I used the original nuts which I have never had a problem with and also some locking nuts I bought. Even the new lockers are falling off. What could be the problem?

Are you tightening them while the wheel is in the air, then torquing them down while it's on the ground?

No I have been just doing it with the wheel lifted. That's how I have always done it and never had a problem till now.

Get a torque wrench and set to specs and redo after a few days. A MUST!!!

Adjust with car on the ground.

You are not getting enough torque with the tire in the air, do that first than put the tire on the ground and torque in the proper sequence. Don't just go around in a circle, go acrossed from each other in a star pattern. I torque mine to 90 foot pounds.

So I did the whole tighten with the wheel lifted and torqued to "90" with the wheel down and the damn wheels almost fell off before I got one mile down the road.. There's no way 90 ft lbs is going to hold the wheel on.

Good question.... are you using the right threaded nuts for your studs?

Lug nuts also have tapered seats on them. The part that meets the wheel usually has a certain degree of taper to it. Make sure you are using the right ones for your car. Even if the stud thread is right, the taper will cause a wheel to rattle off.
