GT or V6?
[blockquote] Hey everybody. I am a high school senior going to college in the fall and I plan to FINALLY get a mustang this summer. I want one from 94-04 with less than 80,000 mi. on it. Anways, the real question-GT or V6. My friend has a 2001 Bullitt and I love the torque. Its just the V6's are so much more affordable, but I hear they cost much more to modify. So which is the better investment, a little more for the GT for the horses and torque, or go with a V6 and build it up?? Thanks for any opinions.

Maybe get a quote from your insurance company to see how much difference a GT will cost over a V6?
Sure a V6 is cheaper, but then you need to pay to mod it just so it makes the SAME power as a GT.. what's the point?
And if you're gonna get a V6 then at LEAST get a 5 speed not an auto tranny

you're young so i'd do like grey suggested and check out insurance quotes. GT insurance might rape you but once you hit a certain age it drops to nearly nothing and costs like 10$ more than a v6.
i donno about the v6 costing 'more' to modify, but it will definately cost alot of money just to make a decent amount of power. i think a full bolton 99-04 v6 only puts down like 190rwhp. a stock gt puts 225ish down and has alot more torque. are you after this car for speed or just to have a mustang thats pretty quick?

get the GT. i got one while i was in highschool..and yes the insurance is higher...but its sooooo worth it! and yes...get the 5 spd. i got an auto and regret it everyday. i will eventually get it converted to a manual. its just nice when a little civic comes next to you and revvs you already know you can take it and dont have to worry. youll be happier with the GT i think.
GT!! YOU GONA FINANCE IT? FULL COVERAGE WELL BE KINDA HIGH, BUT I THINK ITS WORTH IT FOR A GT.IF U DONT FINANCE IT OR GET A PERSONAL LOAN LIABILITY IS THE WAY TO GO. BESIDES ITS GONA COST SOME MONEY TO GET TO THE GT SPECS. AND U GOING TO COLLEGE I DOUBT YOULL HAVE THE TIME TO BE WORKING ON THE V6 TO BUILD IT UP. GT ALL THE WAY
get a gt, v6's arent worth it and deff get a 5spd, autos are no fun, the insurance wont be bd, just do liability, not collision that will cut costs, so deff get a gt, and as for under 80k, ur gonna have to look 99-04 as a ton of the 94-98's have 100k + including mine which has 147k
