Yo indisposable,, what cars are you comparing the Mustang GTwith in terms of it not being fast?

I feel my '02GT is pretty quick, excellent bang for the buck! Of course there are more powerful cars on the market but they're either much more expensive, or have engines either bigger or have forced induction..

I just didn't find it as fast as I was hoping. I don't really find the 99-04 GT's that fast at all. They are quick but not fast. I actually enjoy driving the 99-04 GT's more than the 05+ GT's. I like the way that the older GT's drive compared to the new GT's. lol Basically I was hoping for the feel of a Trans Am...[&:][8D]

I am not saying that the GT's are slow I am saying that they are not as fast as some people make them out to be. They are definitely quick cars though. I wouldn't mind having a 99-04 GT, I like the style and I actually like the 4.6L engine although I would rather have a 4v than a 2v.

Well you must have some high standards because I felt the new GT wa just as fast a the T/A. Yes I've driven both. I wasn't impressed by the T/A at all.

You think that the 05+ GT's are asfastas the T/A's? lmao Being that the T/A is the same weight as the GT and has 50 more hp I don't really agree. The T/A has way more ***** than the GT does anywhere in its power range. I also like the looks of the T/A more than the new GT's.

Since when did a T/A weight as much as a Stang GT? Back in 2002 the TA's were 300lbs heavier.. AND don't forget the Firebirdsgot the "extra 50 hp" from an engine over 1 litre bigger (5.7 vs 4.6) Geez I'd really HOPE that bigold pushrod engine would make at least 50 more hp

You're not comparing apples to apples

T/As weighted about 3500lbs, which is roughly what a S197 GT weights. Equal drivers, a LS1 T/A or Camaro SS will be faster than a S197 GT.

I may only be 17, but both of my parents have owned their own 04 GTs and traded them in for 07 GTs. I have driven them both, and IMO 03-04 GT vs 07 GT, its 05 GT ftw. Unless the 03-04 is a Higher upgrade then the GT(mach 1, cobra, etc.) then its the 05 GT.

Now about the T/A agrument, Ive always looked at trans ams and if I see those two huge hood scoops, then i knew it was competition for the Cobra, otherwise i see a T/A and think whoopdy-do. Keep in mind i dont know much about trans-ams.

The one race I've seen between a Cobra and T/A went badly for the Cobra because of wheelhop.

S197 GT's are a noticable amount faster than new edge GT's, but doesn't feel it for some reason. Maybe b/c the s197 is over 100lbs heavier than the new edges, maybe b/c the S197's have a tighter/better suspension, throttle lag from the computer possibly? I am not sure, but I know it definitly drives different.

FYI, in degrees of acceleration:
Terminator>LS1 f-body/Mach 1>S197 GT> New Edge GT/LT1 f-body
Understand?
