Need Help, Complete Noob!
Hello! I am a complete newbie and I need some help with a few questions I have. I have found and fallen in love with a 2000 Mustang, Manual trans. with a V6. This will be a car I drive everyday and I was hoping somebody could tell me how these cars handle in the rain. I got to drive it for 2 days and keep it overnight, but the roads were dry. We do get a lot of rain around here. Since I will be driving myself and my kids everyday, I wanted some feed back from some experienced Mustang enthusiasts!
Thank you for any help!!

i had a 00 v6 when i was 16. have my gt now. they arent the greatest cars in the rain (or snow for that matter) but since you have kids i assume your a higher demographic than myself so your probably easy on the throttle in any weather compared to me. they are easy to drive in the rain. i floor it and turn sideways on wet roads just for the heck of it but they arent bad in the rain as long as you take it easy.

The V6 should work just fine for you on rainy days. GT's have limited slip difs that can make life interesting on wet pavement, the V6'rs have open diffs which is better on slippery surfaces.
Make sure all the tires have good tread & you will be fine.

Thank you for your help! I would love some more input on this car from anyone out there who can give me some info. On handling in the rain and anything else that I might need to know about this car. Thank you again!

As long as you don't get heavy snow, you should be alright. Nobody would manufacture a prodution V-6 that can't be driven in the rain. Even with snow, studded tires and a bag of tube sand in the trunk (for weight over the rear axle) is a pretty good solution. Plus you can always use the sand if you get it stuck

Thank you for the reply! We just don't get that much snow in ChattTN like we used to. I had read several reviews over the weekend on other sites that mentioned how bad it handled in the rain. I just wanted to get some good input from experienced mustang drivers before I jumped into this and make sure I wasn't getting in over my head since this would be my everyday car too! Thank you again!
