autometer gauge noise?

autometer gauge noise?
i put in autometer gauges water and oil pressure. I used copper lines. Everything seems to be working fine except that as the engine revs i hear this noise that seems to be coming from the oil pressure gauge....or behind the cluster/dash. The sound is similar to having washers spinning/vibrating on something. Its not too loud but its definately noticeable. Could it be a faulty meter? Is this noise normal? You can only hear the noise from inside the car. It seems to be coming from the oil pressure gauge and not the water temp gauge, but who knows. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this noise is annoying and makes the car sound/feel cheap. thanks again, mike

RE: autometer gauge noise?
it's probably the cooper lines expanding as they heat up, maybe they're rubbing somewhere when they move around with the heat. you could get the Autometer pre-fabbed braided SS hose line and hook up the gauge with this and I guarantee that it won't make any noise this way. line is around $40 or so but works good and you don't have to worry about it breaking or leaking.

RE: autometer gauge noise?
Well, i seem to be having problems with both gauges. The water temp gauge is either very sensitive or broken because its at a different temp every time i look at it. it goes from 180 to as high as 220. And my driving conditions dont seem to play a part it in however the electronic gauge that is still hooked up is always pretty much in the middle. go figure?
The proper with the pressure gauge is the tinny noise. i cant figure it out. One of my friends said they tend to make noise, but he didnt think it should be that loud.
