Buying a stang
Right now I currently have a GTP that is a peice in itself. I was looking to buy a v8 mustang but im not sure on which year to buy. My friend has an Bullitt and Its fun to ride in but I can only afford around 8k for a mustang. This car will be my daily driver that I plan on doing some mods for the street and not track. Anyone have an suggestions?

RE: Buying a stang
That's a tough 0ne. I'm not sure where you live or what the prices of GT's are in your area so it is hard to help. One thing is almost a certainty, you are going to have to get an older stang, one with higher miles, or both to hit that 8K mark. I just bought my 02 with 32K on the odometer for 14,600 out the door in the midwest. I'm thinking you will have a hard time finding anything over 99 at that price but look around. Also, the pre 99's are still kicka$$. Check into them. With only 8K to spend, I would be sure to get a carfax report (pay for it yourself, don't trust a dealer). to be sure you are getting the deal you think you are. While looking for mine, I saw quite a few hat seemed great but the miles vs. cheap price, didn't match up so I asked for a carfax & the dealer wouldn't/ couldn't come up with one. When I pressed to have one as a contingency of sale, they backed away. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Good luck!

RE: Buying a stang
well i live in upstate new york... for 8 grand ull be able to find a gt from 88 if its like super moided and in mint condition... to about 99 or 98. 94 and 95 has the 5.0, which is a better engine to mod, and a better all around engine, 96 up has the 4.6, which has more stock horsepower but i dont think its as good of an engine as the 5.0, more problems and what not. well good luck

If you were gonna get a 94-98 V-8 I would recomend getting a 99+ V-6 because the HP is not that much of a difference. The 96-98 GTs have 215 HP or so, The 94, 95 came with the 5.0. The 1999 and up V-6s have 195 HP from the factory. These are also all measured at the Flywheel and not the rear wheels.
