Default Creaking noise

I have an 04 Gt and when I turn the wheels left or right I hear a littlecreaking noise. Got under the front and pulled on the power steering arm to the wheels and can reproduce it. Anyone think this is cause for concern?

Yes. A creaking noise could be the sign of a dry or worn out bushing or something like that. Is there a lot of slop in the steering when you're driving it?

Not at all, the steering is very tight. The car only has 34k on it. I would'nt think the tie rods would be bad at this point but maybe? I read another comment from anther guy who sprayed inside the dust cover boot with white greese and the noise stopped. I am going to try that.

sounds like the rag joint, or steering shaft bushing, also check your stab. end links.

I had the same problem last year. Everything felt fine when driving but the noise was annoying.

So I took a knife, slit a tiny hole into the boot of the outer tie rod end and squirted in some "White Lithium" into the hole. Got inside and turned the wheel left and right for a bit and the noise stopped for me.

Quick fix for the noise but it has just started again whenafter a really cold night (KY)so I'm just going to replace the outer tie rod ends.

-------------------------------------------Edit-------------------------------------------

I was told that the tie rod ends arent bad, but the lube that Ford uses is crap. The lack of / quality of lube inside is what the problem is. Thats what lead me to my "theory" of the quick fix.

I am going to try the grease method and see how that works out for now. If it comes backI will probably go ahead and put on outer tie rod ends for the hell of it. Thanks guys...

Front end shop. Maybe a swaybar bushing. My work van pissed me off with that. I sprayed a lot of wd-40 on every bushing including the shocks....lol
