Default I keep breaking clutch cables. Need help.

I have a 96 gt and recently had some transmission work done. fully rebuilt transmission, new light weight flywheel by ram, new clutch by ram and new clutch cable with quadrant. i keep breaking the clutch cable and don't really know why. the first one, by bbk, broke at the fire wall adjuster, so i got rid of the adjust. the next one again bbk seized in the jacket. now on the third cable by zoom and it appears to have seized again, i haven't had time to look at it yet. the mechanic who did the work says that my clutch is to much for the cable, so i changed it. summit racing says its just some bad parts. and ram says that the mechanic installed it wrong. so basically everybody is pointing fingers at someone else and its driving me crazy.

if anyone can give me some advice on how to fix this problem it would be much appriciated. thanks

if you are using an aftermarket heavy duty clutch and a stock cable, then your problem is that the teeth keep getting striped. try a different cable.

despite how it may seem the OEM cable is the strongest one made, make sure when you put it in you grease it and have the cable adjusted properly

ORIGINAL: sveltre
mechanic who did the work says that my clutch is to much for the cable,
Is it? If the pedal is really heavy this will be hard on any cable, strong or weak.

Check the quadrant. It must be centered in front of the firewall hole.
