i guess it's too late for me to chime in with my opinion. DON"T DO IT. j/k bro. i have had a couple offroad toys and a few mustangs. while i love to play offroad, i get to enjoy my gt all the time. my 80 f150 that i was driving daily until i bought the mustang in october is surely no comparison to your jeep though, as it's old, rusty...and a lot bigger.

wow lol this thread is back from when i just bought the gt...

was just lingering around and thought i'd find this thread since i haven't been on or posted since this and thought it would be fun to update it with a pic of the gt and the mods. still absolutely love the car.



now has blacked out headlights/tail lights, aluminum fuel door, o/r x with mac dumps, lowered an inch and a half, 4.10 gears and also has DD bullits with 315's which aren't pictured because i had to take them off because they got bald. so the 245's are on till i can buy new wide tires again. also has mach grill delete and tinted windows

car has ran a best of 8.7 in the eighth with the mods. that was in 70ish degree weather. cooler weather in the 40's or 50's will definitely help a bit and i think i can get 8.6 or possibly 8.5 out of her.

One comment, even though this post was old...
If you're buying a used car, fight for the price.
I'm a car salesman, and I know the money is in the used cars.
People trade in their cars for bottom dollar, we fix them and sell them for top dollar.
Example: we picked up a 98 Cobra, yellow convertible, with 37k on it for $4100. Now we'll sell it for $13000.
If you're buying used, get the best price--you KNOW we don't pay bluebook for those cars.
