Headlight "fog" question?

Headlight "fog" question?
I am about to pickup a 1993 Cobra (that has been mostly sitting in storage for years) and I noticed from the pictures that the headlights seemed "fogged" up. I seem to recall with my 1989 I had this issue because water was getting in. This car however has not been in the rain. Could it just be condensation? What are the possible remedies?
I can't wait to pick up this dream car.
thx

RE: Headlight "fog" question?
Fog in the headlights is nothing to worry about.A possible remedy is to let them dry and use dielectric grease to seal around the O rings on the bulbs. If you find cracks around the bezel these can be temporarily sealed with RTV sealer.New headlights aren't that expensive,it might be just as well to replace them.Congrats upon finding your dream car, just check it out before you part with your funds.Caveat Emptor.

RE: Headlight "fog" question?
I have not seen it in person (yet) but it looks like (and owner reports) its more of a permanent discoloration (looks like fog) that has been there a while. I have seen some cleaners advertised online. Sorry i was not clear. I suspect the cause is as you say however.

RE: Headlight "fog" question?
I have used Mothers aluminum and mag polish with excellent results on the fogged up headlights as well as fogged up instrument lens. Also 3M polishing compound with a 2 speed electric buffer set on low speed works quite well too.
