CAI - increase HP/Tourque w/ no tuning
2005 - 2008 GT Mustangs
I came across a website called Big Daddy Performance.Big DaddyIntroduces Power Induction Cold Air Kits for the 2005 & Newer that does NOT require andy tuning!
Click on the link below to see the dyno test and how much HP/tourque can be added!

Iwas intrigued and wanted to share this.....

RE: CAI - increase HP/Tourque w/ no tuning
Our '06 Automatic gained 22hp & 10 ft lbs of torque...on the stock computer...with NO tuning!!!
Geez I dunno,, I'd love to call BS on that lol WTF are the parts made of that makes it cost $600??!? A CAI is just an air tube with an air filter at the end & mass air sensor in the middle..
And,, NO CAI "requires" a tuner

Yes, the CAI is a bit expensive; however other CAI's that REQUIRE a tuner would cost just as much or even MORE. The tuners alone range from $300 - $500 each.
I've reada lot of post on the MF and that say they only gain 5-10 HP with their CAI. The video shows proof on how much HP/Tourque a stock GT can get. :-)
I just wanted to share the info and see what others thought.
Thanks!

I'll call BS.
First, it's not just a CAI, it's a CAI and MAF. That's probably why they're charging so much... but that's still WAY expensive.
The MAF is also why they're specifying that it 'doesn't need tuning' as any GOOD MAF does require a tune. They're probably getting that HP/Torque by messing with the air/fuel ratios and leaning it out. You can do it, but I sure has hell wouldn't want to. Detonation will come back and bite you in the ***.
You also aren't going to gain 5-10 HP with a CAI. The stock airbox flows pretty well as it is and pulls it's air from outside the engine compartment... thus it's essentially a "cold air" kit as it is.
You can obviously do what you want, but it's been proven over and over that the "no-tune" MAF's are a bad idea.

It's just a modified C&L Racer intake with their custom MAF and MAF housing. Their new MAF replaces the need for a tune. That's why they're seeing those gains. The new MAF is effectively accomplishing the same thing as a tune. You'd be better of buying a regular intake and tuner combo. It would the same price if not cheaper, and be much more flexible.
S197 Mustangs do require a tune if you change the diameter of the MAF housing. If you run an intake with a MAF housing larger than stock, the engine will lean out.
