Default Yet Another Disappointment

I went to the track Friday to run the car and it disappointed me worse than it ever has. I put on my ET Streets and done a hellacious burnout and pulled up to the line. I revved it to like 3500 rpms and dumped the clutch and the car ran sick as hell. it bogged all the way up the track- not bogging from the launch but from only having about 1/4 of the power it normally does. I changed my coil and ECT saturday but it made no diffrence, I got a distributor from a friend so I guess I will try that. The car was twice as fast before I put those damn heads on cause it aint been right since.

did u examine the heads really good?. Sometimes a rocker could be too tight, or the exh. and int. valves could be opening at the same time!. I'd examine the heads thoroughly. Cuz from what ive been hearing of ur situations and setup these last several months, it doesnt sound like u mis-match any parts.

i paid a professional engine builder to put the heads on and adjust everything. my problem is either in the fuel injectio b.s. or the ignition. i suspect the pickup coil so i am going to change the distributor cause i know this one i got from my buddy is good. i am also going to put in an A9P computer and see what kind of diffrence that makes. I am a nats *** from ripping the fuel injection off and carbing it, but not until I try a few more things. The car is just plain SICK !!!!!!! I will get it right eventually, if i have to carb it then so be it.

oh and trust me, if I had bought new heads- they would have been AFR. I got these edelbrock performers barely used with rockers for $650 so I couldnt turn em down. AFR's would have gave about 15 more horsepower so I figured I could save $700 and be 15hp less. a little home porting and these will be just as good as AFR's.

Dan, do you have a chip or programmer? You've probably hit the end of even the MAF computer's abilities without a chip/tune.
