ever heard of earl sheibs? http://www.earlscheib.com/
but you are right, i've never had a car painted. i've seen earl's $200 and $300 paint jobs, which are ok - lasting for 3-4 years, and was assuming another few hundred would take care of it.

My dream car was a 93 Rx-7 twin turbo all through my teen years. Then I actually tried to work on one, and found that not only do they need serious engine work fairly early in life (before 100K miles), but there're only a small handful of people with the expensive equipment needed to conduct the repairs! Cooling the turbo rotary engine isa real problem. This means that it could cost a tremendous load to maintain an rx-7. When I bought my stang, things changed. I know I can hit the 200k mark easy and still keep galloping without having to have an engine rebuild because the tiny thing has overheated AGAIN. Take the stang, and drive to the moon and back. F'get about it.

Yes of course I have, but you get what you pay for, and you said "a nice" paint job. Paint and work is retardedly expensive, My Cutlass will have near 40-50 man hours just in body work alone, and it still won't be perfect.

Im really leaning towards the Stang, but the sad fact that still remains is that I cannot buy anything until I sell my Cougar. If anyone is interested check out my website. 2000 Modded Mercury Cougar

i suppose you asked on an rx7 board too and they told you the 5.0 stangs suck because the engines last forever and are very reliable. you should get a car where you're going to be working on it more than driving it. i think the choice is clear. clear eyes!
