Default help installing exhaust

I have a 92 LX convertible and in the process of installing a flowmaster exhaust. I got the passenger side on which took me a long time. The flange bolt holes that hooks up to the cat did not line up requiring me to make the holes a little bigger. That side finally went on ok. I am having a hard time with the drivers side. I finally got the muffler on after tweaking the flange bolt holes. The muffler is hanging in the rubber support. I cannot get the tailpipe into the muffler. Any help would be appreciated. I spoke to Flowmaster and they told me that on rare occasions, you need to loosen all the bolts on the exhaust including where the H pipe hooks up to the stock headers. Anyone with a similiar experience. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
The rest of the exhaust is stock.
