Default Speed Sensor

Hi, I am having some problems with my speedometer and I think it's the speed sensor that's getting worn. They say it's in the transmission, where exactly is that sensor? I thought it was just beside the driveshaft in front of the car. I was told that the cluster could be worn too. Clusters aren't only with cable driven speedometer? Mine is Electric.

Thanks.
