im looking into getting a car(4 banger) and i came across a 05 stage 2 srt-4 with 23k miles for 17k!!i was wondering if this is a good deal since i know nothing about these srt-4s....and how good would this car be for a dd??i need some decent gas mileage since the gas is $4.10!![:@]

 

I think they run premium but get good mpg, it's esentially like getting a small engine bmw or mercedez gas wise(good mpg, but your paying an extra 40-50cents per gallon to do it). That price sounds high b/c they're base price was $19,xxx new and modded cars are supposed to be cheaper than stock cars due to them being abused more. I'd say a good price for that car is $15k or mid $15k tops. Stage 2 probably is putting out nice power, I'd say enough to run with a stock S197 GT, so the car is no dog and pulls good. I'd say eat him down to $16k and go for it if the car seems to run(test drive it and inspect for leaks and engine knocks, etc)and looks mint and you like the power(which you will). Can't beat a good mpg 13sec daily driver car

 

i need a dd since ima put the ol pony away for some serious surgery.....i think i saw somewhere that they get 22mpg in the city and 30mpg highway.......plus if i ever wanted more power just upgrade the turbo!!

 

Yeah they were rated 22/30 mpg but with the stage 2 expect to get worse especially if you're on the gas. I have no idea what they go for so i can't comment on price but keep in mind even though they're quick it's still built like a Neon.

they arent that great on gas. slightly better than a mustang maybe...but not worth buying just to save gas. plus my personal opinion is its a f** car

if you want a cheap car on gas buy an old civic or something for a few grand and dump more money in the stang since it wont be driven as much.

or get a crotch rocket :-)
