General muffler question

Default General muffler question

i have a 2000 mustang v6, i was checking the muffler for a leak and noticed a small nail size hole in the back oval part. is that supposed to be there??

now dont quote me on this, but i believe sometimes they are put there from the factory to let water drain out.A picture would be helpful!

If it's in the lowest part of the muffler and it looks like it's been sliced inwards with an old style can opener, Yes it's supposed to be there to drain condensation.
