are the mounts expensive?
What needs to be cut under the hood?
I could probably just swap to the springs off a 5.0 right?
I'm a noob to mustangs but not a noob to hotrods.
I've got a couple 350s laying around,so im curious just incase I ever want to do it.

Are the mounts expensive? I didn't know anyone made mounts for that sort of conversion,, I'd assume you have to fab your own

By the time you **** around with mounts, headers and a transmission. Need a custom driveshaft and the list goes on.

Wouldn't it just be easier to sell on of the Chevs and buy a Ford. It'll make more power anyways.

No and No.
Fords cost more to build for the same power.
Its why all our local modified guys stopped running them.
Ive also got some chevy transmissions kicking around.
This is all hypothetical If I ever decide to do it.
But its good to know there isnt any aftermarket support for the mounts, fabbing them from soem aftermarket chevy mounts probably wouldnt be too bad.
I agree I posed headers being the biggest problem.
Anyone on the forum have this combo?
I seen acouple guys last year at our local strip with this combo , the one guy even had a chevy emblem on his hood,.
Haha the cars were FASTT.

he is right, Fords are more expensive as their Performance parts come into play... Chevys are actually quite a bit cheaper...

I wouldn't do a 350 though... I came so so so close to dropping a 406 w/ 2 stages and powerglide in my stang a yr or so ago... the guy was selling it all for $9k. It was a 11.5.1 comp motor, ported intake, aluminum heads, LT's, big Carb, and all forged internals... I shoulda taken the offer but all the other stuff cameinto play. Labor, custom parts, and hacking away at stuff...

And a few guys around here have chevy motors in there Hatchbacks... a close friend of mine has a 509BB w/ 2 stages, it runs 6.20's on the motor- 5.50's on the gas
And another guy in Milton, named John he has a white LX with a 598BB, and direct port N20 it's been as fast 5.29...but he has problems hookin up 80% of the time.
And yes all of these are 1/8mile times.

Nice, Yeah I was also intrested because I have a 12:1 350 already done in my hotrod, soIf it ever came down to it, I could also throw that in my mustang once it was set up for sbc.
I dunno I just made an offer on a hatch for partswith 5 lug conversion, rear disks, 373 ect. mpgs might not last long haha
