I understand that there are 3 blowers, the two on the side feeding into the one on the top somehow. My question is, what is the point of the inlet on top of the center blower (sorry, don't know what it's called) if the incoming air is already compressed?

The inlet is just for looks I guess. It's probably sealed behind the butterfies

 

yeah looks to me like the scoop just serves as a plenum to funnel all that compressed air into the intake. ill bet theres a wall behind the butterflies; and they're just attached to the rats nest of throttle cableing that runs behind that beast so they move correctly.

 

I wish I had money to build something like that! too bad it's not a stang

 

I emailed the guy and asked him. Basically he confirmed exactly what I was thinking, the butterflies are just for show, the inside is blocked off.
